This policy explains what information JA Kisner (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit jakisner.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. When you book an appointment, buy a membership or shop online, those companies’ own policies also apply, as explained below.

Information you give us

We only collect personal information that you choose to send us:

Newsletter signup. If you sign up for our newsletter on the home page, we collect your name and email address and add them to our email list with Mailchimp, which sends the newsletter for us. We use them only to send you news and offers from the salon and to run our giveaways. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to remove you at any time.
Calls and messages. If you call or message us, for example to ask about a service or an appointment, we receive your phone number and whatever you tell us, and we use it to reply.

Please don’t send us sensitive information, such as payment card or health details, through this website.

Booking, memberships and the online shop

Appointments and memberships are handled by Square. When you use the booking pages on this site, or the “Subscribe today” buttons, you are using Square’s booking and checkout tools. Square collects the details you enter (such as your name, contact details, the service you choose and your payment information) and processes your payment under Square’s privacy policy. We receive the details of your booking or membership so that we can serve you, but we never see or store your full card number.

The “Shop Online” link takes you to our product store, which is run on the Salon Interactive platform. Anything you enter there is handled under that store’s own privacy policy, not this one.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours collects some information automatically when you visit:

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit the site and which pages they view. It collects information such as your approximate location, browser, device type and the pages you visit, using cookies and similar technology. We use it only in summary form to improve the site. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Facebook (Meta) pixel. We use the Meta pixel so that we can measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads and posts lead people to this site, and show our ads to people who may be interested in the salon. The pixel sets cookies and sends Meta information about your visit, such as the pages you view. You can control the ads you see in your Facebook ad preferences.
Server and security logs. Our web host and security tools keep standard logs (such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request) to keep the site running and protect it from abuse.

Content from other companies

Some parts of this site come from other companies, which may collect information under their own privacy policies:

Instagram. Our home page shows recent posts from our Instagram account (@jakisnerstyle). The images are loaded from Instagram (Meta).
Google Maps. The map on our home page is provided by Google.
Square. The booking widget on our appointment pages is provided by Square.
Facebook. The Facebook and Instagram icons link to our pages there.

How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and our business (for example Mailchimp, Square, our web host and our website maintenance company), when the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of our clients and staff.

How long we keep it

We keep newsletter subscribers on our list until you unsubscribe, and other messages only as long as we need them for the purpose they were sent, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link at the bottom of each one. You can set your browser to refuse or delete cookies; the site will still work. You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information you sent us by contacting us using the details below.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
